President Barack Obama will meet Friday with Nina Pham, one of two US nurses who has been cured of Ebola, the White House said.
The meeting will take place in the Oval Office at 1:30 pm (1730 GMT), the White House said shortly after the National Institutes of Health held a news conference with Pham announcing her discharge from hospital.
Pham contracted Ebola after treating a Liberian man in Texas who later died of the virus.
Obama has been vocal in calling on Americans not to give in to fear or hysteria around Ebola, stressing that the virus does not spread easily and that the United States is well-equipped to deal with any eventual new cases.
Earlier this month, Obama said he had “shook hands with, hugged and kissed” nurses who had treated an Ebola patient.
