A Wisconsin police officer transporting a couple to jail after a DUI stop, was forced to pull over after the drunken duo began having sex in the back of his police cruiser, reports The Smoking Gun.
Heather Basten, 29, and Travis Husnik, 33, were taken into custody after a Oconto County Sheriff’s Department deputy observed their car drifting into oncoming traffic on Aug 3.
Both Basten, who was driving, and Husnik admitted they had been drinking and officers observed two open cans of Busch Light on the car's floorboard.
Husnik, who police state is a convicted felon and currently on probation, was handcuffed and placed in the back of a cruiser. He was later joined by Basten, who was taken into custody for driving without a license and possession of a used syringe in her purse which she reportedly told officers she “used to shoot up meth.”
While transporting the couple to jail, Deputy Adam Zahn “observed Travis lay onto of Heather in the backseat.”
The officer stated that he saw “Heather’s legs go up touching the ceiling and heard her begin to moan loudly.”
Zahn explained that he pulled over, opened the cruiser door and saw “Travis onto of Heather having sexual intercourse.”
According to Zahn, Husnik's pants and underwear were around his ankles and Basten’s shorts were “hiked up” allowing Zahn to “see both of their privates.”
Husnik was subsequently sentenced to 90 days in jail for lewd and lascivious conduct.
Basten pleaded guilty to drunk driving and disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 48 days in custody and fined $1236.
