Bishop Leopold Frade of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida wants President Barack Obama to stop being a "sodomite," according to WLRN.
But the bishop's remarks, made at a rally earlier this month at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Miami, apparently have nothing to do with the sexual proclivities of the current President of the United States.
Frade is upset that Obama has broken apart families by deporting undocumented immigrants.
"It is horrible," he said, "to see the people being deported, being separated from their children, being separated from the people that they love because we have insisted on not doing what we need to do as a country."
"He has been the president that has deported more people than even Bush did!" Frade added. "And I am asking President Obama to stop being a sodomite! I want him to stop being a sodomite!... It's time for him to stop being a sodomite, and start being a man."
Quoting scripture, Frade said Obama was a sodomite because he wallowed in abundance and comfort like the people of Sodom, while ignoring the poor and needy.
"It's hard to imagine anything good or productive coming from shouting 'sodomite' at the president of the United States unless you're a bishop with a really exaggerated idea of how familiar people are with the 16th chapter of the book of Ezekiel," WLRN's Rick Stone noted.
