The Duggars forbid their daughter from helping a pregnant relative who had gotten pregnant before she was married.
Jill Duggar, now 23, is a practicing midwife, and she wanted to help her sister-in-law’s younger sister give birth two years ago, reported Radar Online.
An unidentified source told the website that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar would not allow their daughter participate because they didn’t think she should be “exposed to an unmarried mother in that condition.”
Jill Duggar, who was married in June, is expecting her first child.
The Duggars banned the relative, Susannah Keller, from their TLC reality show, “19 and Counting,” after she became pregnant, Radar Online reported.
The website also reported that the Duggars were upset when she allowed her 2-year-old daughter to dance last year at a family event.
The Duggars are part of the evangelical Quiverfull movement that encourages women to have as many children as their bodies will allow.
