Harry Potter author mocks Rupert Murdoch for ignorant tweets about Islamic terrorism

Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling attacked News Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch for comments he made Friday night in which he blamed Muslims for failing to weed out the "jihadist cancer" metastasizing in their communities.


On Friday, Murdoch wrote on Twitter that:

Rowling found offensive the idea that moderate Muslims are responsible for extremist followers of the same faith, and on Sunday she responded, first by calling attention to comedian Michael Monan's tweet:

Then by penning a scathing one of her own:

Nor could she deny the other historical atrocities for which she, by Murdoch's logic, was responsible:

In a more serious vein, Rowling also praised the heroism of the Muslim grocery store employee at the Hyper Cacher kosher grocery store, who is credited with having saved 15 lives:

She then took time to address a reader who believed her incapable of understanding her own books:
