A deer attacked a Wisconsin hunter who shot the animal with an arrow.
The 72-year-old man was taken by ambulance to a Fond du Lac hospital after the deer injured him shortly before 7:30 p.m., reported the Fond du Lac Reporter.
Investigators said the man, whose name was not released, was hunting with a crossbow near Taycheedah when he wounded a doe with an arrow.
He was tracking the injured animal through some thick brush when the doe leaped out and attacked him, sheriff’s deputies said.
The doe struck the hunter in the leg with her head and escaped, investigators said.
