On SportsCenter this afternoon, Little League phenom Mo'ne Davis said that she had sent a letter to Bloomsburg University asking them to reinstate Joey Casselberry, who had been dismissed from the baseball team over the weekend for calling her a "slut" on Twitter.

In response to learning that The Disney Channel is making a movie about the 14-year-old who became the first girl to earn a win or pitch a shutout in the Little League World Series, Casselberry wrote the following tweet:

Bloomberg University was swift to act, tweeting within hours that his words did not represent the institution and that he had been dismissed from the team.

On SportsCenter today, Davis revealed that she had sent the university a letter asking that Casselberry be reinstated. "Everyone makes mistakes," she said, and "I know I would want to take that back."

"Everyone deserves a second chance," she added. "I know he didn't mean it in that type of way, and I know a lot of people get tired of seeing me on TV, but sometimes you've just got to think about what you're doing before you actually do it."

Davis said that she has not received an official response from the university at this time.
