A Pennsylvania public university professor thinks maybe the women who have accused comedian Bill Cosby of rape took a long time to come forward because “women are sluts,” according to his Facebook page.
In an apparently-deleted post, caught by the Daily Beast, Lincoln University professor Kaukab Siddique mused:
What I can’t understand is why it took so long for the violated women to come out against him. Was it:
1. He paid them off.
2. Many women are sluts.=
3. American women are slaves of rich men.
4. Random sex is quite acceptable in America.
5. They don’t have families like Muslims do that would take revenge for rape.
When asked by the Daily Beast to clarify, Siddique, an English professor, said he’s just trying to understand what’s going on with American women.
“I was asking my readers what they thought of these five possibilities,” he said. “The reason I was writing five items is because I’m not sure what is going on with American women.”
Lincoln University has a troubling history with issues surrounding sexual assault.
Last year, the university’s president Robert Jennings was forced to leave after three women reported sexual assaults to police, to which he responded,
“We have, we had, on this campus last semester three cases of young women who, after having done whatever they did with young men and then it didn’t turn out the way they wanted it to turn out, guess what they did? They went to Public Safety and said, ‘He raped me,'” Philly.com reports.
Siddique, who is apparently tenured, is also a big fan of former reality TV stars the Duggars. On June 4, he wrote:
To be honest, the Duggar family is being attacked by supporters of homosexuality and “Gay” marriage. Also, because they are Christians. Information on the Duggars’ son was leaked out by, apparently, from the police files to trashy media. The homo lobby is taking revenge for the Duggars’ criticism of transgender and homo activity. The fact is that now in this country the homo lobby controls so much of the media that they attack Christians. No religion is sacred in America.
He also posts regularly using language like “Zionist Jewish dog.”
He defended himself on Wednesday, writing, “Daily Beast article indicates, these people are mentally defeated. They try to undermine your job, so that you will be scared and abandon your First Amendment rights. The article indicates, they have already gone to my job.”
The university has said Siddique has the right to express himself and it has no plans to take action, though it condemned his commentary, according to the Associated Press.
