Saying he was “glad to be out of the house” a retired and now bearded David Letterman was a surprise guest at a Steve Martin and Martin Short show at San Antonio’s Majestic Theater Friday night, saying Donald Trumps’s entry in the 2016 Presidential race made him realize he retired too early.
“I was complacent, I was satisfied, I was content, and then a couple of days ago Donald Trump said he was running for president,” Letterman said, pausing a beat to add. “I have made the biggest mistake of my life, I tell you.”
Letterman then proceeded to tick off one of his famous Top 10 lists, listing ten “interesting” facts about the bombastic businesman.
A selection includes, “That thing on his head was the gopher in Caddyshack,” and “Donald Trump weighs 240 pounds, 250 with cologne.”

Yet another recording has emerged of former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg as the billionaire campaigns for the presidency.
"Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg said at a private event in 2016 that his presidential campaign platform would have been to "defend the banks" and also labeled the progressive movement and Massachusetts Sen. ‘This is mind control’: Ex-CIA agent nails Trump’s new loyalty oath for government staffers
The White House and Republicans were supposed to be putting together a plan to protect Americans against Russia hacking yet another election, former CIA officer Phil Mudd pointed out on CNN Monday. Instead, they've failed Americans, opting instead for their own crusade to protect the president from anyone who disagrees with him.
"In a typical president, the National Security Council would say to the president, 'here are the options,' but they won't do that," said Mudd.
Retired Rear Adm. John Kirby agreed, saying that in wake of the president's acquittal from the Republican Senate, he feels empowered to do whatever he wants.
Kellyanne Conway: Bernie Sanders winning is ‘the payback’ Democrats get for impeaching Trump
White House adviser Kellyanne Conway said on Monday that Sen. Bernie Sanders' potential nomination is "the payback" Democrats deserve for impeaching President Donald Trump.
During an interview on Fox News, Conway was asked about reports that President Donald Trump has a "hit list" of people to remove from government because they are not loyal enough to him.
Conway did not deny the report, but quickly changed the subject.
"The payback is actually coming through the nomination of Bernie Sanders," Conway quipped. "I would like to thank Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and the rest of them. And I'd like to thank the never-Trumpers for delivering Bernie Sanders as the possible nominee."
