Texas GOP group promotes viciously anti-Muslim blog post: ‘Islam is a satanic cult of murder’

A Texas Republican group tweeted — and then deleted — a link to a viciously anti-Muslim blog post.

The Travis County GOP promoted the Conservative Daily News post, “Islam is a Satanic Cult of murder, not a ‘religion,’” late Monday but apparently deleted it by late Tuesday morning, reported the Texas Freedom Network.

The post written by blog contributor Bob Russell announces itself loudly: “Christianity is a religion but Islam is merely a satanic cult of rape, torture, murder, bestiality, and satan worship!!!!!”

The writer insists he does not hate “Moslems” — a purposefully misspelled word that, in Arabic, means “one who is evil and unjust” — but goes on to slander followers of Islam with a litany of vile accusations.

“Moslem men regularly rape male and female children, women, and animals and say it is their ‘right’ to do so,” the writer claims. “They also mutilate young girls in a perverse doctrine that women should not enjoy sex (enjoying sex is only the prerogative of men). Men also physically and sexually abuse their wives as a ‘right of manhood.'”

The Texas GOP group’s promotion of such unquestionably anti-Muslim slurs is hardly surprising.

Mainstream Republicans have become increasingly bold in their attacks on Islam and its followers, and GOP presidential candidate Ben Carson has apparently seen a spike in his fundraising after claiming that electing a Muslim president would be incompatible with constitutional values.

Russell, who is apparently from Oklahoma, claims the Catholic Church and American liberals want to destroy the United States through the “importation” of Muslim immigrants.

He also brands former President George W. Bush a “coward and traitor” because he offered to pay for repairs to an Iraqi mosque damaged by American troops during a gun battle.

“Liberals in America stand with the Godless islamic cult against Christianity,” the writer argues. “Just look at how Christians are defiled in the USA; criticized, fined, and even jailed, for standing by their beliefs yet islamists are never treated this way.”

The blogger then argues, as many religious conservatives do, that the U.S. deserves to be destroyed.

“I wonder how long it will be until God destroys this nation (as He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) for the cruelty to the innocent, Holy bible and its promotion of immorality and satan worship,” Russell wrote.

The Travis County Republican Party has not commented on the tweet or its apparent endorsement of the blog post.

The National Basketball Association was protested on Friday for bowing to pressure from China.

The NBA has been harshly criticized for standing by the oppressive regime instead of standing in solidarity with the pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong.

"Producer and activist Andrew Duncan bought 300 tickets to tonight's Nets vs Raptors game and is hosting hundreds of Chinese pro-Democracy activists to protest the NBA," New York magazine correspondent Yashar Ali reported Friday. "They're all wearing 'Stand With Hong Kong' T-shirts."

President Donald Trump is considering firing Mick Mulvaney, his acting White House chief of staff and director of the Office of Management and Budget, The Atlantic reported Friday.

"Mick Mulvaney's job was in danger even before his disastrous press conference yesterday, and his equally disastrous attempt to walk that performance back," The Atlantic reported. "The fumble could not have been more poorly timed: According to multiple current and former White House officials, many of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to relay private conversations, Trump has been steadily souring on Mulvaney for weeks."

Michael Moore predicts Mick Mulvaney will get into Heaven after confessing Trump’s quid pro quo

Published

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore predicted acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney will ascend to Heaven in the afterlife during a Friday interview on MSNBC's "The Beat" with Ari Melber.

The host played a clip of Mulvaney admitting Trump's quid pro quo while seeking foreign election assistance from Ukraine.

"This man obviously is going to be admitted into Heaven," Moore said. "You know, he told the truth."

"If there was a movie version of this, somebody stuck him with a needle just before he walked out onto the stage there, a truth serum needle, and he just went on and on saying, 'Yeah, that’s what we do. Yeah, of course.' Essentially admitting there is a quid pro quo. In fact, there are many quid pro quos."
