GOP candidate Jeb Bush couldn’t be bothered to talk with CNN New Day host Alisyn Camerota, who made it clear he was the only candidate who didn’t appear live to talk with her about Wednesday night’s primary debate, CNN Commentary reports.
“It’s nice to have you, but with all due respect, where is the candidate?” Camerota probed. “Where is Governor Jeb Bush? Shouldn’t I be speaking to him this morning?
This left Bush’s communications director, Tim Miller, to scramble for an explanation.
“You just heard him last night,” he said, referring to Bush’s appearance with CNN host Dana Bush. “He’s flying to New Hampshire right now… You’ll have plenty of time to see him talk about the debate last night.”
Camerota then cut him off to press him further on why Bush didn’t show up.
“This morning, somehow, other candidates have made time to be on our program, to give us sort of a post-debate wrap-up,” she said. “We have Governor Chris Christie, we have Senator Rubio on this morning, we have Governor Huckabee, we have Carly Fiorina, we hear Ben Carson wants to call in. So shouldn’t Jeb Bush be talking about what happened last night?”
Miller then apologized to Camerota that she was “stuck” with him.
“Well I’m sorry that you’re stuck with me Alisyn,” he said. “But Jeb’s on a plane to New Hampshire. He’ll be available this afternoon. You’ve got a couple great reporters that follow him around.”
