Jimmy Kimmel does CNN’s job by asking Donald Trump about his ‘un-American’ views on Muslims

Late night host Jimmy Kimmel grilled GOP candidate Donald Trump harder than the CNN personalities hosting the last primary debate.

Kimmel had Trump as a guest on his ABC show, Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night, where the comedian pressed him about his proposed ban on Muslim people entering the country.

"Isn't it un-American and wrong to discriminate against people based on their religion," Kimmel asked, which prompted the audience to cheer.

Trump responded that "we have people coming into our country that are looking to do tremendous harm."

He then brought up terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino. He also said he has "many, many Muslim friends," some of whom agreed with him.

"The people who are friends of mine, they called and they said, 'Donald you've done us a tremendous service because we do have a problem,'" Trump said.

"Those may have been crank calls," Kimmel cracked.
