South Carolina man arrested for shooting girlfriend in the neck after drinking
A 35-year-old South Carolina man was arrested after allegedly shooting his 28-year-old girlfriend in the neck while under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, WSOC-TV reported.
Russell Osborne reportedly admitted to shooting the woman on Saturday night inside their Indian Land apartment while the couple’s 9-month-old son slept in another room.
According to the Rock Hill Herald, Osborne reported the shooting to authorities himself, telling deputies he picked up a .22-caliber rifle after drinking and smoking the drug without realizing it was loaded. He then pulled the trigger, hitting the woman.
The victim was airlifted to a hospital and is expected to survive. Osborne was charged with use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
