Real estate mogul Donald Trump's momentum continued on Saturday after winning the South Carolina Republican primary, MSNBC reported. The Associated Press also called Trump the projected winner.

Trump, who won the party's New Hampshire primary after losing out to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in the Iowa caucuses, held the lead throughout the week leading up to the "Palmetto State's" primary. Real Clear Politics reported that as recently as Thursday, Trump was the leading choice in a poll of state GOP voters, garnering the support of 34 percent of respondents -- 13 percentage points more than Cruz.
