Univ. of Massachusetts orders students to shelter over possible gunman on campus
Students and faculty at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst were ordered to shelter in place on Thursday following reports of one or two possibly hostile armed people on campus, university officials said on Twitter.
Officials described the suspects as white males and said university police were interviewing witnesses. There were no reports of shots fired at the university, located about 90 miles (145 km) west of Boston.
