Christianity Today is under fire for a rather bizarre job posting, advertising a 26-year-old woman is a virgin and seeking prospective husbands.
The woman's father posted for prospective husbands without her knowledge, advertising that she was a virgin, according to the Daily Beast.
“Her: godly, gorgeous, athletic, educated, careered, humorous, travelled, bilingual, 26-year-old virgin. You: unworthy, though becoming less so daily," the post read.
The evangelical Christian magazine's editor-in-chief apologized for the ad, though it was flagged too late to be pulled from its print version.
“We want everything in our magazine to reflect beautiful orthodoxy, and this ad did not,”editor Mark Galli responded to the Daily Beast.. “We have taken a hard look at our ad review process, made some changes, and we can assure our readers that no ad like this will appear again.”
According to the Daily Beast, the ad seems to be about a woman named Rachel, who has a blog. The blog address was included in the ad, but it is not available for the general public to read. However, she seemed to take the situation in stride with a sense of humor.
"I’m just nervous if this doesn’t work out, next I’ll find my face plastered on a billboard,” she wrote, according to the Daily Beast. “Oh gosh, now I’m giving him ideas.”
