Fox News host Megyn Kelly grilled former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in his feeble attempt to defend GOP candidate Donald Trump, who this week refused to disavow the Ku Klux Klan and David Duke in an interview on CNN.
Huckabee said he believed Trump's story that he didn't properly hear CNN host Jack Tapper in his earpiece as the explanation for why he wouldn't refuse the white supremacist terror organization, but Kelly wasn't buying it.
Huckabee said Trump has "repeatedly disavowed David Duke, disavowed the Klan."
"When did he repeatedly disavow the Klan," Kelly pressed.
Huckabee then insisted that he doesn't 'know of anyone who has suggested that Donald Trump is a racist," though Kelly's lead-in was former GOP candidate Mitt Romney saying just that. He then tried to say Trump may not have heard what Tapper said.
"But Trump heard David Duke in that ear piece, you know that, because he repeated back, 'David Duke,'" to Jake Tapper," Kelly said.
