Rowland Edwin Dodge Jr, a 62-year-old Matthews, North Carolina man, called the office of United States Senator Richard Blumenthal, of Connecticut, last Wednesday around 12:10 p.m, according to WBTV.

When he spoke to an intern and reportedly asked to speak to the senator he was informed that the senator was unavailable.

"Tell Senator Blumenthal that if he raises my taxes one cent, just one penny, that I will kill that motherf*cker. I will shoot his motherf*cking brains out," Dodge reportedly told the intern. He then hung up when the intern asked him for his name and zip code. She documented the call and contacted the U.S. Capitol Police.

Dodge got a visit from FBI agents at his Matthews home on Thursday where he admitted to calling the office and he was the only person present in his home at the time.

Dodge was arrested after a warrant was issued for threatening to assault, kidnap or murder a United States official, a federal crime. His booking took place at the Mecklenburg County jail at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday.
