A 50-year-old Georgia man was found dead inside his home after allegedly shooting and killing five people on Friday, WAGT-TV reported late Friday night.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Department said they believe they found Wayne Anthony Hawes' body inside his home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound following a manhunt for him in connection with the shootings. They also believed that the suspect set the home on fire before killing himself.

Reuters reported that, according to officials, Hawes "apparently snapped" after his wife informed him that she wanted a divorce.

The shootings took place at two different locations, and authorities said each of the five victims -- two men and three women -- were known to Hawes. Four of the victims were found dead, while a fifth died after being hospitalized.
