Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Hollywood outside the CNN headquarters on Sunday afternoon to voice their frustration with the lack of coverage of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
Protesters used the hashtags #OccupyCNN and #BernieBlackout to organize and speak out against the unequal time given to covering Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over Sanders. Last Saturday, Sanders won the Hawaii, Washington and Alaska primaries by large numbers but the network barely covered the news, activists say downplaying the victories. This while giving a disproportionate amount of time to covering Donald Trump’s latest antics.
“Stop showing Trump so much,” said a man interviewed by Periscope user @SandersFangirl. “Stick to the issues.”
“There should be fair and equal coverage for all presidential candidates,” said a man also interviewed by @SandersFangirl.
Other Sanders fans have alleged CNN has lost its objectivity because Sanders’ Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton has garnered significant sums from employees of Time Warner, CNN’s parent company.
As of Sunday afternoon CNN had not released a statement on the incident.

Modi tells Xi summit will launch ‘new era’ for India and China
India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Saturday that his summit with Chinese leader Xi Xinping would launch a "new era" between the neighbours who are seeking to overcome troublesome differences.
Modi and Xi strolled along a pristine Bay of Bengal beach and held one-on-one talks overlooking the ocean before their delegations sat down to official negotiations at the historic resort town of Mahbalipuram, south of Chennai.
The two leaders are meeting for the second time in a year in a bid to ease tensions over border disputes, the troubled Kashmir region and China's domination of trade between their huge economies.
