A 17-year-old former Miss South Carolina Teen International was arrested this week after authorities accused her of forging doctor's notes to get out of school.

WSPA reported that police in Duncan charged Madison Cox with counterfeiting/forgery on Monday because she allegedly used a notepad from Parris Family Chiropractic to write excuses for her absences from Byrnes High School.

Parris Family Chiropractic reportedly confirmed to the Duncan Police Department that Cox was not seen by the office on the days she was absent from school.
