In an interview with The Daily Beast, hip hop superstar Snoop Dogg had a few things to say about this year's presidential election -- but only addressed probable GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump by name.
Speaking with Marlow Stern, Snoop remembered commenting on the billionaire developer in in 2011, when Trump first started talking about a White House run.
“Donald say he wants to run for president and move on into the White House,” Snoop offered at the time. “Why not? It wouldn’t be the first time you pushed a black family out of their home.”
Asked how he feels about Trump now that it looks like he is going to be the Republican candidate, the hip hop star was a bit more forgiving -- but not without reservations.
“I mean, I don’t dislike him,” explained Snoop. “I like some of the shit he’s done and he do, but I don’t agree with a lot of the shit that he says, so I have mixed emotions when it comes to him. He says a lot of shit where you go, ‘OK, that makes sense,’ and then he says a lot of shit where go, ‘Damn, that makes no sense,’ so I don’t really get him. I’m not a fan and not a hater.”
As for the other candidates, the rapper/producer wasn't in the mood to make any endorsements.
"I don’t really have one [candidate choice],” he stated. “I’ve been following lightly, but I don’t have a favorite. Either or. Him or her. I don’t really care because I don’t think they’re going to affect me as much as I’m going to affect them."
"Presidents only matter when they have a pulse on what’s going on in the world, and I’m always a part of the heartbeat of the world," he continued. "Obama had me come up [to the White House] and do my thing and whatnot, so I feel like I’ll be able to go up there and help whoever better the world.”
