"Morning Joe" Scarborough has a long and friendly relationship with current GOP front-runner Donald Trump -- but that seems to have run its course.
Trump and Scarborough on Friday began duking out their differences in the most public way possible -- on Twitter. The argument seems to have started with prolific Twitter user Trump.
Joe Scarborough initially endorsed Jeb Bush and Jeb crashed, then John Kasich and that didn't work. Not much power or insight!— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump) 1462557814.0
Trump then unleashed a criticism of varying accuracy that he often employs against his nemeses -- the idea that they are fading in importance and status.
I hear @JoeNBC of rapidly fading @Morning_Joe is pushing hard for a third party candidate to run. This will guarantee a Crooked Hillary win.— Donald J. Trump (@Donald J. Trump) 1462559127.0
Scarborough apparently took offense, and defended himself and his show.
You heard wrong, cowboy. We talk about scenarios. Never fear. MJ is going to beat CNN for the 7th straight year! 😳 https://t.co/DVsBHctzgd— Joe Scarborough (@Joe Scarborough) 1462559464.0
"Rapidly fading?" Umm...we are enjoying our best ratings ever. Lots of luck, fella. https://t.co/DVsBHctzgd— Joe Scarborough (@Joe Scarborough) 1462559519.0
Define "rapidly fading," Donnie boy. https://t.co/DVsBHctzgd— Joe Scarborough (@Joe Scarborough) 1462559629.0
@JoeNBC @realDonaldTrump @Morning_Joe The irony here, Joe? Trump tweeting that Sanders should run third party. Guess it's OK in that case.— Jeremy Pond (@Jeremy Pond) 1462559694.0
