A Texas undertaker took the unusual step of calling on a hit-and-run driver to turn themselves in for running down and killing a 3-year-old child, Fox59 reports.
Ethan Hernandez, 3, was walking with his parents in a crosswalk last week when the driver of the truck hit him and drove away. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died as a result of his injuries. Police are still trying to identify the driver.
On Wednesday, Robert Falcon, who owns Affordable Burial and Cremation Service, posted the scathing letter to his Facebook page.
"I want you to look at these pictures of a precious child and see the innocence and want you to know what you took from a family who now hurts beyond anything we can measure," Falcon wrote.
He accompanied the words with photos of Ethan while alive, and one of him lying in a small, white coffin.
"I dressed him in a little black suit, white shirt and bow tie and placed him in a little white casket surrounded by angels," Falcon wrote. "I was there when his mom and dad saw him for the first time yesterday and wept with them. I was the last to see his body before I closed his casket this afternoon and took him to his place of rest. I did this because of You!"
Falcon then called for the driver to turn him or herself in.
"You know who you are," Falcon wrote. "I have done my duty, now do YOURS and turn yourself in."
