Police have shot and killed a gunman who took one hostage at a Walmart store in Texas.
An armed employee entered the Amarillo store about 11 a.m. and took a co-worker hostage, reported KDFW-TV.
Witnesses reported gunshots, but police said no other injuries have been reported.
SWAT officers fatally shot the gunman, who witnesses said was Somali and a current or former employee, during a standoff shortly before 1 p.m. local time.
Police did not confirm any details about the gunman.
Shoppers were evacuated from the store, and police shut down roads near the store.
Police described the incident, which remains under investigation, as a workplace conflict.
