Fans of the late Gene Wilder are finding beautiful ways to pay tribute to his life and his work. During a concert in Denver, the band Coldplay finished their classic song, “The Scientist,” with the “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” song, “Pure Imagination.”
You can hear in the audio below that the audience goes wild as they hear singer Chris Martin sing the lyrics, "Come with me, and you'll be, in a world of pure imagination." The lights dimmed and Martin thanked the audience.
The tweet with the video has been retweeted over 6,000 times and scored over 11,000 favorites in just a little over 24 hours.
The Oscar award winning actor and writer died Monday at the age of 83. Wilder was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease just three years ago and stayed out of the limelight and press, keeping his illness a secret aside from close friends and family.
