Katie Holmes will be free next year to spill the beans on her Scientology marriage to Tom Cruise: report
Tom Cruise’s ex-wife Katie Holmes signed an agreement that included a gag order when it comes to talking about Cruise, Scientology and even her dating life. But that all ends when we ring in 2017.
According to the celebrity gossip site Radar, an inside source claims Holmes can’t date publicly until 2017.
“Katie signed a clause in her quickie divorce settlement that prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce,” the source claimed.
“She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri,” the insider continued. “Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms — and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself.”
If Holmes were to break the rules, she could lose the money she received as part of their divorce, the source claimed.
Holmes did a film that was released this year that promoted the benefits of psychology and medication, something Scientology opposes. Holmes also made news last year when she publicly apologized to Leah Remini after the actress came out about her complicated life as a Scientologist. In that instance, Tom Cruise allegedly “freaked out.”
