Chinese man gets three years in US prison for theft of corn secrets

A Chinese man has been sentenced to three years in a U.S. prison for conspiring to steal high-tech U.S. corn seeds with the intention of transporting them to China, the U.S. Justice Department said on Wednesday.

Mo Hailong, 46, pleaded guilty in January in federal court in Iowa to conspiring to steal patented corn seeds from DuPont Pioneer and Monsanto Co. Mo was employed as director of the international business of the Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Co Ltd.

President Donald Trump's children are hoping their father will notice their efforts to help his re-election campaign.

The 2020 campaign offers Trump's three eldest children, born to his first wife Ivana Trump, an opportunity to attract their notoriously inattentive father's approval, reported Politico.

“I view it as the kids staying relevant," said one Trump adviser. "They are no longer on TV every week with 'The Apprentice,' so instead of NBC, they are on Fox News or at campaign events and are way more visible."

Trump expands executive overreach – ends asylum protections for migrants in Central America coming to US

In a new and expansive executive action President Donald Trump has created a new rule that ends asylum protections for migrants traveling from Central America to the United States.

Those seeking asylum who pass through another country before applying for U.S. asylum will be deemed automatically ineligible for asylum protections.

The Associated Press reports the new rule is "expected to go into effect on Tuesday, also applies to children who have crossed the border alone."

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) tried to have it both ways on Monday while addressing Donald Trump's racist comments about four Democratic lawmakers who the president thinks should go back where they came from, with the GOP senator chiding the president to "aim higher" then calling his targets 'communists.

Appearing on Trump-friendly Fox News, Graham stated, "We all know that AOC [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY)] and this crowd are a bunch of communists. They hate Israel, they hate our own country, they’re calling the guards along our border concentration camp guards… they’re anti-Semitic, they’re anti-America.”
