Passenger stands up to subway rider’s sexist rant — and gets slashed across the face and chest
A subway rider stood up to another passenger’s sexist rant against a woman on the train — but the obnoxious man slashed him across the face and chest with a weapon.
The suspect had been yelling for awhile Thursday afternoon on the A train, police said, and he then got into a woman’s face and shouted sexist and offensive comments about her and women, in general, reported WNBC-TV.
Another passenger came to the woman’s aid and confronted the angry man.
The men started arguing at the 34th Street and Eighth Avenue stop, and the suspect slashed the 42-year-old victim across the chest, forehead, shoulder and arm with an unknown weapon, police said.
The assailant jumped off the train and ran away after the subway stopped at Port Authority, and he remains at large.
The victim was hospitalized but it expected to recover, authorities said.
Another man was slashed in a similar but unrelated attack last month by a “coward” with a box cutter during an argument on the D train.
A man and woman beat and slashed a man with a box cutter Oct. 3 at a Prospect Park station for the Q train.
