Officers in Fort Worth, Texas took a 51-year-old man named Larry Trees into custody on Saturday after he choked a female relative and shot at police personnel.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said that Trees faces "assault of a family member and two counts of attempted capital murder."

At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, police received a call about a domestic disturbance at Trees' home on Poplar Spring Road in Ft. Worth. When patrol cars arrived at the resident, they found Trees standing on the porch with a shotgun. He fired twice.

Officers returned fire as Trees retreated back into the residence.

As SWAT teams arrived at the scene, Trees and a woman surrendered and walked out of the house. The woman -- whose relation to Trees is unknown -- is the person who Trees is accused of choking.

Trees is currently being held in Mansfield Jail on $65,000 bail.
