No more ducks to give: A&E cancels ‘Duck Dynasty’ after 11 seasons
The cast of Duck Dynasty announced on Wednesday night that the show would be entering its final season, which will come to an end on April 12, 2017, according to Mediaite.
Now entering its 11th and final season, the Robertson family has made it known that after five years, they will no longer be airing on A&E.
“This will be our final season,” Jase Robertson said. “After five years we’ve decided as a family for this to be the final chapter of the Duck Dynasty series.”
USA Today reports that A&E wrote in a statement, “After five years, 130 episodes and one of the biggest hits in the history of cable, the Robertson family and A&E jointly decided that Duck Dynasty, the series, will come to an end after this season.”
It remains unclear whether the show was canceled, or if it was the decision of the Roberston family.
Jase also took to his Twitter to announce the news, writing, “Yes, this is the last season of Duck Dynasty. But, it is a REALLY long season, and we may do an occasional special in the future. Love yall.”
