California Gov. Jerry Brown doesn't sound like he's in the mood to bow before President-elect Donald Trump.

In a speech delivered to climate scientists at the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco on Wednesday, Brown vowed to fight Trump's administration tooth and nail if it moved to interfere with the state's work on combating climate change.

"We've got the scientists, we've got the lawyers and we're ready to fight," said Brown, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.

Elsewhere in the speech, Brown warned Trump that California would continue to conduct its own research even if he gutted NASA's funding for studying climate change.

"If Trump turns off the satellites, California will launch its own damn satellite," he said to cheers.

Brown also taunted former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, whom Trump this week announced as his pick to run the Department of Energy. In particular, Brown said that nothing Perry could do would stop the state from switching to renewable energy.

"We've got more sun than you've got oil," he said.
