See Nate Silver’s shocking electoral map of what the US would look like after a nuclear holocaust
Polling expert Nate Silver tried to find some dark humor in Donald Trump’s repeated calls to expand the U.S. nuclear arsenal.
The statistician and editor-in-chief of ESPN’s FiveThirtyEight speculated in a tweet what the electoral map would look like after a nuclear holocaust.

The map showed only Alaska, Hawaii and Wyoming — and their combined 10 electoral votes — surviving the horrific destruction of nuclear war.
In that apocalyptic scenario, Trump would still win the election, by a narrow 6-4 margin in the Electoral College.
Trump, who has wondered why the U.S. maintains a nuclear arsenal if the doomsday devices are never used, tweeted Thursday that he would like to “greatly strengthen and expand” those capabilities.
