Tennessee man accused of killing and dismembering parents while home for Thanksgiving holidays
A Tennessee man has been taken into custody by police in Louisiana on charges that he killed and dismembered his parents while visiting them during the Thanksgiving holidays, reports Oak Ridge Today.
28-year-old Joel Michael Guy Jr. was arrested Tuesday on a fugitive warrant in Baton Rouge and is expected to be returned to Knox County on charges of killing Joel Michael Guy Sr., 61, and Lisa Guy, 55.
According to police, who called the crime scene “horrific,” both victims were stabbed and dismembered — with body parts spread out through different rooms in their house. Police state that some of the remains were found in an acid-based solution, in what they believe to be an attempt to cover up the crime.
Police were sent to the parent’s home on the Monday following the holiday after the mother failed to show up for work.
Sheriff’s Maj. Michael MacLean said, “Both suffered multiple, vicious stab wounds as well as dismemberment. It would be described as horrific — a very gruesome crime scene.”
MacLean stated the FBI, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office put Guy under surveillance at his Baton Rouge apartment and he was taken into custody on Tuesday.
According to police, Guy indicated that he went to visit his parents because he needed money.
