In what has become an all too common occurrence since the election of Donald Trump, a Muslim woman said she was verbally assaulted as a “terrorist” by three men on a New York City subway platform as one of them tried to snatch her hijab off her head.

UPDATE: Muslim woman who claimed she was harassed by Trump supporters made up story, police say

Writing on Facebook, 18-year-old Yasmin Seweid claims she was waiting on the subway platform after leaving an event at Baruch College when she was accosted by the men who appeared to be in the early twenties and drunk, reports Gothamist.

In her own words, Seweid, described the encounter, saying she felt she should come forward after reporting the incident to the police and knowing it would appear in the press.

“I take the train every single day going to & coming from class, but yesterday, something happened that I never thought would happen to me, “she wrote. “I was harassed on the subway last night and it was just so dehumanizing I can’t speak about it without getting emotional. Three white racists ripped the straps off my bag & attempted to yank my hijab off my head. They yelled such disgusting slurs at me, I was so helpless and felt defenseless. ‘Look it’s a fucking terrorist’, ‘go back to your country’, “take that rag off your head’ and so many more. Trump’s name was repeatedly said & it finally clicked in my head. No matter how ‘cultured’ or ‘Americanized’ I am, these people don’t see me as an American.”

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Seweid explains that she was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to Egyptian parents, adding, “I was born and raised in this country. I’m an American, you know?”

According to the woman, bystanders on the platform and in the subway didn’t intervene, forcing her to get off at an earlier stop leaving the men behind.

“It breaks my heart that so many individuals chose to be bystanders while watching me get harassed verbally and physically by these disgusting pigs,” she wrote. “Trump America is real and I witnessed it first hand last night! What a traumatizing night. Please stay safe everyone & never let anyone take your rights away. Just thought I should share that with you all tonight.”

According to police, they are investigating the assault as a bias crime.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) suffered a legal setback after losing a major lawsuit he had filed.

"A federal judge has tossed out a racketeering lawsuit House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes filed last year against the private investigation firm at the heart of the Trump-Russia saga," Politico reported Friday evening.

"Alexandria, Virginia-based U.S. District Court Judge Liam O'Grady's two-page order made short work of Nunes' suit, which sought $9.9 million in damages from Fusion GPS, its founder Glenn Simpson and a nonprofit watchdog group, Campaign for Accountability," Politico explained. "The judge also signaled that pressing on with the legal battle could result in sanctions against Nunes and his attorney, Steven Biss."

Devin Nunes (Calif.), the committee’s ranking Republican and a staunch Trump ally, said one person familiar with the matter.”
