Joy Behar: Flynn scandal is more evidence Russia 'handed' Trump the presidency

ABC's The View talked extensively about Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's resignation on Tuesday, and co-host Joy Behar said it was further evidence that Russian interference helped Trump win last year's presidential election.

After discussing Flynn's resignation -- which came about after he was found to have lied about discussing economic sanctions with Russia's ambassador late last year -- Behar tried to tie everything back to Russia's general preference for Trump, as well as the country's efforts to help get him elected by leaking damaging information about Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

"The question really remains, did the Russians hand the presidency to Donald Trump?" she asked, to which co-host Whoopi Goldberg replied with an emphatic, "Yes!"

Earlier in the segment, co-host Sunny Hostin marveled that Trump would hire Flynn in the first place, especially given that he had a notorious reputation within the intelligence community for not following orders.

"Obama fired him because he was insubordinate, because he failed to follow guidance of his superiors," she said. "So they were on notice that this guy was rogue, that this guy didn't follow protocol. And so why would you put him in charge of national security?"

"Because he's in bed with the Russians, just like Trump is!" Behar cracked.
