‘They have him by the balls’: The internet pours mockery on Sean Spicer’s claim that Trump is ‘tough’ on Russia
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer on Tuesday insisted that President Donald Trump hasn’t gotten enough credit for being tough on Russia, despite the fact that Trump has never once personally criticized the country.
“The irony of this situation is that the President has been incredibly tough on Russia,” Spicer said while commenting on the resignation of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, who stepped down after revelations that he had lied about talking with Russia’s ambassador about American sanctions against the country.
Given Trump’s repeated past praise for Russian President Vladimir Putin, many Twitter users erupted in howls of laughter after Spicer touted the president’s supposed “toughness” against the country.
A sample of the top reactions follows below.

Spicer claims Trump's "tough on Russia". Tough as in letting them only have 1 national security secret this week instead of 2?
