‘Get rid of the filibuster’: Wisconsin Republican calls for end of ‘stupid Senate rules’ standing in GOP’s way

A Wisconsin Republican wants to get rid of "stupid Senate rules" preventing the GOP majority from doing whatever they wish.

"Get rid of the filibuster rule," said Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) Monday morning on "Fox & Friends." "You only need 51 votes -- get rid of it."

Duffy, a former cast member on MTV's "Real World" reality show, said Democrats would do the same thing if they held a Senate majority.

"Democrats are going to do it anyway when they have the majority," Duffy said. "They're going to get rid of it when they have the majority. We might as well do it now and accomplish this agenda."

He said voters are angry because Republicans have been unable to accomplish their agenda, which includes repealing the Affordable Care Act.

"We're not getting it done because of stupid Senate rules," Duffy said.

Republicans can afford only two defections to pass a bill that would repeal the 2010 health care law.
