GQ’s Keith Olbermann on Monday argued the case is closed against Donald Trump and his campaign’s conspiracy to collude with the Russian government.
“Four titanic facts have now emerged,” Olbermann said after Trump’s son-in-law and top adviser Jared Kushner’s testimony on Monday. “Their importance cannot be overstated, they cannot be avoided, we have all been right.”
Those four facts are that Trump’s attorney general Jeff Sessions “lied about meeting and discussing the campaign with” Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, that Sessions “sought to conspire to do a deal with a foreign nation to interfere with our elections,” that Kushner “now admits he asked the Russians to give the Trump transition team access to Russian-controlled communications channels to talk directly to the Kremlin” and that the Trump administration has launched a “full-scale, multi-tiered plot to cover up those activities.”
“At best they only tried and failed to do a deal with Russia,” Olbermann said.
“The Resistance” host added “it doesn’t matter if Jeff Session doesn’t know his quid from his quo pro.”
Turning to Kushner’s testimony, Olbermann noted Trump’s son-in-law admitted he read “some parts of an email” between himself and Donald Trump Jr., but not others.
“Trump has tried to cover up this conspiracy with Russia,” Olbermann said. “The only conclusion is there a White House coverup led by Donald Trump to hide a conspiracy with Russia.”
“Trump himself either knew none of this … or he knew some or all of it,” he added.
“The case is closed now,” Olbermann insisted. “The Trump campaign was willing to accept what it believed was material from the Russian government for use in our presidential election.”
“Impeach, convict and arrest Donald John Trump,” he concluded.
