In characteristic fashion, Whoopi Goldberg laid out the news of the day — this time, about Donald Trump Jr.’s emails about his meeting with a Russian lawyer last summer — in hilarious fashion.
“Donnie Jr., known to us as ‘Fredo,’ tried to clear up his own scandal on Sean Hannity last night,” Goldberg began on Wednesday’s episode of The View.
“Let’s break this down, exactly how much of this story has changed,” she started.
“First: he had ‘no contact with the Russians!’ Then, ‘no contact with the Russians, it’s a left-wing conspiracy, it’s fake news!'” she said, imitating Trump Jr. to hilarious effect.
“Then he said the meeting was about adoption, ‘I was thinking about adopting from folks in Russia.’ Then his email proved it was to get incriminating information, but then he said ‘Jared [Kushner] doesn’t know anything about this and Paul Manafort doesn’t know anything about this, it’s all a left-wing conspiracy,'” she continued.
She went on to explain that “in his own email,” he proved his lie — by copying Manafort and Kushner.
