LISTEN: Chris Christie's talk radio audition goes off the rails after he calls NJ voter a 'bum communist'
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on This Week (ABC screen grab)

Looks like Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ)'s radio career may be taking off soon now that he's begun berating listeners as "communists" and "bums."

According to Mediaite, Christie stunned WFAN listeners on Monday when regular caller "Mike from Montclair" phoned in to give a piece of his mind to the unpopular New Jersey governor.

“Governor, next time you want to sit on a beach that is closed to the entire world except you, you put your fat ass in a car and go to one that’s open to all your constituents,” Mike from Montclair said.

“Interesting, Mike,” Christie responded. “You know, Mike, I love getting calls from communists in Montclair.”

Mike wasn't having it, and claimed Christie is a bully -- "and I don’t like bullies!”

“You’re swearing on the air, Mike," Christie retorted. "You're a bum!"

The governor went on to joke about his lack of popularity in Montclair, and about his electoral wins in 2013.

Christie, Mediaite noted, is auditioning for a prime afternoon slot on WFAN -- and if Monday's performance is any evidence, he'll clearly be a "shoo-in."
