‘Our next attorney general, ladies and gentlemen’: Internet apoplectic after OJ Simpson granted parole
O.J. Simpson on Thursday was granted parole after serving nine years of his 33-year sentence for his conviction in a 2007 armed robbery and kidnapping case.
The Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners voted unanimously to release Simpson from prison. He intends to move to Florida to resume life with his family.
Simpson is best known for his acquittal in the 1995 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. The board on Thursday insisted Simpson’s high-profile acquittal would not be taken into consideration during his parole hearing.
Although the decision did not come as a surprise, reactions to the verdict swift and unforgiving.
