Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) encountered one of her state's biggest celebrities during a campaign event in Fairbanks, Alaska this week during the July 4th recess.

According to NPR affiliate KUAC, North Pole city council member Santa Claus attended the event.

"I'm particularly concerned about children," the man, whose legal name is Santa Claus, told KUAC. "A lot of children are on Medicare or Medicaid, particularly here in Alaska. So, I would like to see Medicare for all."

Murkowski was caught on camera at one event by The Washington Post, in which she confessed that she's been working with a group of Democrats to come up with a viable fix to Obamacare that is outside of Sen. Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) plan.
