Fox News host Sean Hannity, one of President Donald Trump’s fiercest defenders in the media world, is denying a report that he helped out the president’s business financially by racking up a massive tab at one of his restaurants.
One anonymous waiter who works at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. tells GQ that Hannity recently spent $42,000 at a restaurant there — including a significant sum spent to cover “the cost of flying in an eight-pound 70-year-old lobster from Maine.”
The report, if accurate, meant that Hannity blew a gigantic wad of cash for the privilege of eating a large crustacean that was 14 years older than Hannity himself.
However, Fox News tells GQ that Hannity did not spend such an extra sum at Trump’s restaurant. Additionally, Hannity himself angrily denied the allegation with an all-caps tweet in which he decried the GQ report as “FAKE NEWS!!”
FAKE NEWS!! Ridiculous Fake News!! NEVER HAPPENED. https://t.co/Muleg7VpPH
