President Donald Trump praised his son's Fox News appearances after sharing emails that show evidence of collusion -- and claimed he was yet another victim of a "witch hunt."
The president -- who personally signed off on Donald Trump Jr.'s initial statement denying New York Times reports that have proven true -- said his son was "innocent" of allegations that his emails seem to confirm.
"My son Donald did a good job last night," Trump tweeted Wednesday morning. "He was open, transparent and innocent. This is the greatest Witch Hunt in political history. Sad!"

He then attacked the media in a follow-up tweet minutes later.
"Remember, when you hear the words 'sources say' from the Fake Media, often times those sources are made up and do not exist," Trump tweeted.
The president hyped Trump Jr.'s appearance Tuesday night on Sean Hannity's Fox News program, and praised his son as "a great person who loves our country!"
Hours after Trump Jr. released copies of his emails arranging a meeting with a Russian lawyer to discuss the presidential campaign, his father issued his first official statement of defense.
“My son is a high-quality person, and I applaud his transparency,” Trump said, in a statement read aloud by White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
