Trump blames fake media for doling out ‘tremendous abuse’ that led to Sean Spicer downfall
Presided Donald Trump appeared to blame the “fake news media” for the abuse that former press secretary Sean Spicer received while working at the White House.
“Sean Spicer is a wonderful person who took tremendous abuse from the Fake News Media – but his future is bright!” Trump tweeted late Friday night.
There were constant reports of Trump being angry with Spicer over the six months and one day that he was employed by the president. One point of contention was that Spicer was depicted by actress Melissa McCarthy on “Saturday Night Live.” Trump was disturbed that Spicer’s character was played by a woman.
Spicer was also forced to deal with multiple occasions in which Trump contradicted what Spicer had just said in the White House press briefing. It prompted many in the press and online to mock Spicer for seeming as though he was out of the loop.
White House aide Steve Bannon also mocked Spicer for not doing the White House press briefings on camera anymore because “he got fatter.”
Friday night, however, Trump blamed the media for the abuse.
