Despite reports that President Donald Trump walked away from the G20 summit in Hamburg empty-handed, the American president did make an ally out of Polish President Andrzej Duda who vowed to help Trump fight the scourge of "fake news."

Trump returned to the U.S.  late Saturday afternoon and -- sure enough -- resumed his weekend hobby of attacking the media on Twitter.

With Trump handing Russian President Vladimir Putin what Politico described as a "stunning" propaganda victory, the American president needed something to show for his time spent overseas.

Enter President Duda who tweeted, "Contrary to some surprising reports my wife did shake hands with Mrs. and Mr. Trump @POTUS after a great visit. Let's FIGHT FAKE NEWS."

Finding a kindred spirit, Trump -- who rarely responds to anyone from his Twitter account -- tweeted back: "We will fight the #FakeNews with you!"
