Republican Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) faced angy protesters while addressing the Western Conservative Summit in downtown Denver.

“The protesters were detained, escorted out and later released, according to a Denver Police Department spokesperson,” ABC 7 News reported.

“No cuts to Medicaid, save our liberty!” the protesters chanted.

“Protesters from disability advocates Atlantis ADAPT talked over the Republican at length and shouted for ‘no cuts to Medicaid’ as they were escorted out of the convention ballroom,” the Denver Post reported.

Senator Gardiner has faced repeated protests by disability rights advocates. On June 29th, five disability advocates were arrested in the Senator’s office.

“U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner’s name appears on five subpoenas served Friday afternoon, on the eve of the Western Conservative Summit,” ABC 7 also reported.

“This is the only way that we can get Cory Gardner to talk to his constituents, someone has to take responsibility for these arrests,” said Alan Kennedy-Shaffer, an attorney representing the protesters.

The Western Conservative Summit claims to be “the largest gathering of conservatives outside of Washington, D.C.” The American Legislative Exchange Council, or ALEC, met across the street.

“Gardner has been among the most under-pressure Senate Republicans regarding the GOP’s attempts to repeal and/or replace the Affordable Care Act, as he’s yet to definitively take a public stand one way or another on any of the three proposals laid out by the Senate GOP over the past two weeks,” ABC 7 explained.

Security forces fired live rounds at protesters calling for the ouster of Egyptian president: report

Published

Egyptian security forces clashed with hundreds of anti-government protesters in the port city of Suez on Saturday, firing tear gas and live rounds, said several residents who participated in the demonstrations.

A heavy security presence was also maintained in Cairo's Tahrir Square, the epicentre of Egypt's 2011 revolution, after protests in several cities called for the removal of general-turned-president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Such demonstrations are rare after Egypt effectively banned protests under a law passed following the 2013 military ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi.

‘They have gone totally CRAZY!!!!’: Trump freaks out about other people acting nuts

Published

on

After a disastrous week dominated by news about the whistleblower alleging President Donald Trump committed misconduct in office, President Donald Trump lashed out at the media for covering his scandals.

In Trump's mind, however, it was the media who "had a very bad week" as he repeated his call that journalists are "The Enemy of the People!"

Trump, who has almost 65 million followers on Twitter, claimed without evidence that the press doesn't check facts, makes up facts and even make up sources.

Trump then claimed it is the media who have gone "totally crazy" he argued, with "crazy" in all capital letters and followed by four exclamation points.
