'This fight is useless': Ana Navarro blows off Trump defender in tense CNN panel

Ana Navarro had absolutely no patience for a Trump supporter's attempts to defend President Donald Trump's response to Charlottesville on Friday -- and she declared that trying to argue with him was "useless."

After Trump supporter Ed Martin spent the entire segment trying to deflect blame away from Trump by attacking CNN, Navarro told host Kate Bolduan that responding to Martin's attacks wasn't worth her time.

"As your friend and as your colleague, don't respond to this," she said. "They are baiting us because they want to change the subject. They don't want us to talk about the fact that this president lacks moral standing, that he lacks a moral compass, that he doesn't know the difference between right and wrong. So this fight is useless."

Later in the segment, Martin continued trying to bait Navarro by taunting her for supporting Hillary Clinton last fall -- despite the fact that she had long been a top Republican political strategist.

Bolduan then asked Navarro if she had anything to say in response.

"Honestly, I don't want to respond to this guy," she said. "Life is too short."
