Trump’s lack of party loyalty has left DC ‘littered with dead Republican bodies’: ex-Bush adviser
MSNBC analyst and former adviser to President George W. Bush Robert Trayham said on Friday that President Donald Trump’s lack of political loyalty has left a trail of savaged careers behind him in the Republican Party, which Trayham likened to “dead bodies.”
“He will toss you out in a heartbeat,” said Trayham to anchor Hallie Jackson, referring to Trump’s recent attacks on fellow Republicans like Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
Trump is known for the intense loyalty he demands from those around him — even firing FBI Director James Comey when Comey said his loyalty was to his country, not his president — but offers little in the way of return for that loyalty when it becomes inconvenient for him.
“Pennsylvania Avenue is littered with so many dead Republican bodies where this president has just run them over. He will toss you out in a heartbeat,” Trayham said. “What we know about this president is that if you punch him, he will punch back even harder.”
